Braiding Bookmarks – for Kids!
Saturday, March 29

Kids and teens can join Xondra to learn how to braid their very own bookmark. Braids have special significance in many cultures, including Native American cultures, and represent strength and unity as the strands work together as one.
All supplies will be provided. For ages 4 and up.
Part of Columbia County’s Community Read Program.

Spring Ceramic Egg Painting
Saturday, April 12

We’ll be painting ceramic Easter eggs in the children’s room. Supplies limited. Email youth@roejanlibrary.org to claim your spot!

Adventure Wednesday with the Greenagers
Wednesday, April 16
1:00 – 2: p.m.
Join us for Adventure Wednesday, a monthly field trip program designed for homeschoolers and daytime learners ages 4+. Every month, the group will meet at a different destination in the area. In the past, we have met at CLC conservation areas, businesses, museums, local farms, and state parks like the Martin Van Buren Historical Park. Email youth@roejanlibrary.org for more information and to receive monthly reminders about upcoming trips.
Join an educator from Greenagers at the Library on April 16th where we will explore the world of sheep and learn why their wool is so fantastic through a little bit of science and a little bit of handcrafting. We will explore needle felting with wonderful wool! All materials provided to create a small wall hanging.

Smith joins us to discuss her most recent book, Braiding Sweetgrass for Young Adults, which received the Sigurd F. Olson Nature Writing Award for 2022. Open for all ages.

Playtime Wednesdays
Wednesdays, 10:30 – 11:30 a.m.
Parents and caretakers are invited to enjoy the children’s room Wednesday mornings for a weekly playtime! Read stories, play with toys, make a craft, and spend time with other local families.

Storytime Saturdays
Saturdays, 10:30 a.m.
Join us for our brand-new Saturday Storytime!
Led by our new Children’s Library Associate, Xondra, this is the perfect opportunity to meet other parents, enjoy engaging stories, and spend a cozy morning in the children’s section.
